At the end of the fundraising year on August 31st, school's Roo Point totals are added up and, depending on your school's Roo Point total, 1 of 2 things will happen:
1. Your school earned 25,000+ Roo Points
Those Roo Points are cashed out for a fundraising check, resetting their school's total to 0 for the new fundraising year. We'll send that check to your school in October in a bright green envelope.
2. Your school earned less than 25,000 Roo Points
Those Roo Points will roll over into the next fundraising year on September 1st, for a head start in the new fundraising year.
For example, if a school's final total on August 31st is 22,650 Roo Points, then the school will start with 22,650 Roo Points at the beginning of the new fundraising year on September 1st. We wouldn't want you to lose any of those well-earned Roo Points!
Expiration vs Rollover
Roo Points will always roll over into the next school year if your school didn't quite make that 25,000 Roo Point mark.
Completely separate from this, Roo Points will expire if all supporters at any given school are inactive in the app for 90 days. It's important to stay active uploading receipts and keeping the supporters at your school engaged. Find out more about why Roo Points would expire and learn how to keep earning.
